Branch Closure December 2009 It is with great sadness and regret that I have to announce the closure of the Woodall Spa RNLI fundraising branch at the end of 2009. In 10 years the branch has raised approximately £48,000 to support the work of the volunteer lifeboat crews. In that time the branch members have held many different kinds of events from quiz evenings to collections to coffee mornings. They also hosted the unique RNLI archive film afternoon at the “Kinema in The Woods” in 2002 that bought in supporters from many miles away and was a great success. Sadly for several reasons various branch members are no longer able to continue with their support. This has meant that the remaining stalwart members have reluctantly decided they can no longer continue with a viable branch despite many attempts to recruit knew members. Woodall Spa branch was the first committee meeting I attended on my first week in this job and as such I have always felt a special connection with the group. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to branch members past and present for all they have done over the last 10 years in support of the RNLI. You deserve to be justly proud of all you have achieved. It has been a pleasure working with you and I am very sorry to see you go. Mark Spruce Area Fundraising Manager Lincolnshire |
